Windows 10 to be FREE if you upgrade within the first year.

Current users of Windows 7, 8, 8.1 along with Windows Phone will be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10.
A big question remains if Windows 10 will be subscription based much like Adobe did with the Creative Cloud.
“Once a device is upgraded to Windows 10, we’ll be keeping it current for the supported lifetime of the device,” said Terry Myerson, executive vice president of the Operating Systems Group.

Let’s hope this is the case.
A free upgrade to Windows 10 – especially from Windows 8 would be welcomed for many.

Chrome Version 39 – Revert back to old profile Icon / Avatar menu

Since Chrome version 39.0.2171.99 (or so) – The profile change menu now requires 2-3 extra clicks – as opposed to 2 simple clicks at the top left.
To revert back to the old system, with the pretty Profile Icons / Avatars – follow these steps;

In the address bar of Chrome – type in the following and press enter;
Look for ‘Enable the new avatar menu’ –
Select Disabled and restart browser.

That should remove the new top right profile menu change system and switch it back to the old way of switching on the top left.
